# Open a conversation

`GET https://api.markdrop.in/api/v1/ask/threads/{thread_id}`

One of your conversations with every question and answer. Each answer's sources are checked against your access again: when you can no longer open one of them, that answer comes back with `withheld: true` and no text.

- **Authentication:** API token required: `Authorization: Bearer mdk_…`.
- **Rate limit:** 120 per minute per IP address.

## Path parameters

- `thread_id` (string, required)

## Responses

- `200`: OK.
- `401`: No token, or the token is revoked or mistyped.
- `422`: The request didn't validate. `detail` lists each problem, with where it is (`loc`) and why (`msg`).
- `429`: Too many requests from your IP address. Wait the seconds in `Retry-After`.
