# Open a notification

`POST https://api.markdrop.in/api/v1/notifications/{notification_id}/open`

Marks a notification read and returns the link to the page and block it's about, if you can open that page now.

- **Authentication:** API token required: `Authorization: Bearer mdk_…`.
- **Rate limit:** 120 per minute per IP address.

## Path parameters

- `notification_id` (string, required): The notification's `id`, from [List notifications](https://docs.markdrop.in/api/notifications/list-notifications).

## Responses

- `200`: OK.
- `401`: No token, or the token is revoked or mistyped.
- `403`: You can't open the page now, or it's gone.
- `422`: The request didn't validate. `detail` lists each problem, with where it is (`loc`) and why (`msg`).
- `429`: Too many requests from your IP address. Wait the seconds in `Retry-After`.
