# Set a page's property values

`PATCH https://api.markdrop.in/api/v1/documents/{slug}/properties`

Sets some of a page's property values, by key. `null` clears one. For people who can edit the page.

- **Authentication:** Token optional: send `Authorization: Bearer mdk_…` to act as your account, or the document's edit secret in `X-Edit-Secret`.
- **Rate limit:** 120 per minute per IP address.
- **Guide:** [Properties and views](https://docs.markdrop.in/pages/properties-and-views)

## Path parameters

- `slug` (string, required): The document's address: the part after `markdrop.in/`.

## Headers

- `X-Edit-Secret` (string): The document's edit secret (`sk_…`), for a document published without an account. See [Edit key](https://docs.markdrop.in/documents/edit-key).

## Request body

`application/json`, required.

- `values` (object, required): Values by property key. `null` clears one.
- `base_rev` (integer): The page's `rev` you read. If it changed since, the answer is `409` instead of overwriting it.

## Responses

- `200`: OK.
- `409`: The page changed since your `base_rev`.
- `422`: A value doesn't fit its property, or it isn't a page.
- `423`: Someone else is editing the page, or it's locked.
- `429`: Too many requests from your IP address. Wait the seconds in `Retry-After`.
