# Start linking my Slack account

`POST https://api.markdrop.in/api/v1/slack/link/start`

Returns the Sign in with Slack address that links your Slack account to your Markdrop account. Pass `workspace_id` (members of that workspace) or `team_id` (the Slack workspace a /markdrop link button names). Slack proves who you are there; Markdrop keeps no Slack token for you.

- **Authentication:** API token required: `Authorization: Bearer mdk_…`.
- **Rate limit:** 20 per minute per IP address.
- **Guide:** [Slack](https://docs.markdrop.in/integrations/slack)

## Request body

`application/json`, required.

- `workspace_id` (string): Matches `^[0-9a-f]{24}$`.
- `team_id` (string): Matches `^[A-Z0-9]{3,20}$`.

## Responses

- `200`: OK.
- `401`: No token, or the token is revoked or mistyped.
- `422`: The request didn't validate. `detail` lists each problem, with where it is (`loc`) and why (`msg`).
- `429`: Too many requests from your IP address. Wait the seconds in `Retry-After`.
