Analytics tells you what changed, answers questions, and shows what people couldn't find

The analytics home has ✦ Insights: what changed in the period and the likely reason, a box to ask your analytics in plain words, and Write this next, which groups what people searched for and didn't find into pages worth writing.

  • Web app
  • MCP server
  • Insights sums up the period in 3 to 5 sentences: what changed and the likely cause (a link, a site that sent people, a new version, devices or countries), each linking to where to look. Written once a day; Refresh writes it again. See Insights and Ask.
  • Ask your analytics: type a question like "Which link did best this month?". The AI picks from a fixed set of queries Markdrop runs on your own links and answers with links.
  • Write this next (workspace owners and admins, and people with their own Guides): searches that found nothing or that nobody opened, and guide questions Ask AI couldn't answer, grouped into topics with an outline. Create page from this outline starts the page. See What people couldn't find.
  • Workspace searches are now kept without who searched, for 90 days, to power this. See Privacy at Markdrop.
  • The weekly analytics email gets the same summary, once it starts sending.
  • New MCP tools: analytics_story, ask_analytics and content_gaps. All use Claude Haiku 5.5 and count towards your AI limits; only totals and your own titles are sent, never who visited.
