Leaving a page frees it for others at once

When you stop editing a page by leaving it, others can edit it straight away instead of up to 2 minutes later: going to another page, adding a sub-page, closing the tab, and on a workspace's own domain too.

  • Web app
  • MCP server
  • API
  • Leave and it's free. Going to another page, opening the sub-page you just added or closing the tab lets go of the page at once. Before, the page could stay marked as yours for up to 2 minutes, and your teammates and their AI apps had to wait.
  • Nothing typed is lost on the way out. What you typed in the last moment before leaving is saved first, then the page is free.
  • Even when the browser can't say goodbye. If your browser quits without a word (a crash, a laptop that shut down), the page is free about 10 seconds later.
  • AI apps can write right after you leave. update_page and the other writing tools no longer meet "is editing" from a tab that's already gone.
