Markdrop Guides: private pages and sections, free

Keep a guide public and make some pages, groups or sections private: for your team, a customer's people by email or @domain, or partners with a password. On every guide, with no plan to upgrade.

  • Web app
  • API
  • Who can open this page in the editor's Page tab: inherit, public, the team, specific people or email domains, or a password. A rule for a whole sidebar group in Settings.
  • Private sections inside a public page: type / and choose Private section. Everyone else sees a lock card with the way in.
  • Readers sign in with their email: a one-time link, no Markdrop account needed. Team members use Sign in with Markdrop; partners type the password.
  • Access requests from the lock page reach the guide's admins by email; approving adds the reader to the rule. Access history lists every change.
  • Preview as a public reader, a team member, an email address or someone with a password, and warnings for public pages that link to private ones.
  • Nothing private leaks: private pages and sections are left out of search, llms.txt, the sitemap, the MCP server, feeds and Ask AI for readers who can't open them, and every publish checks it.
