Pages: version history, with changes highlighted and one-click restore

Every page keeps its earlier versions. Open Version history from the page's ⋯ menu to see each one as the page looked then, what changed against the page now, and restore any of them. A restore is itself a version, so it can be undone.

  • Web app
  • MCP server
  • API
  • Saved for you: one version per 10 minutes of editing and one when you leave the page, plus a version before and after every change an AI app makes, labelled with the app's name.
  • Version history opens over the page: versions grouped by day, who saved each one, and the one that matches the page now. ↑ and ↓ step through them; on a phone, tap one to open it.
  • Show changes highlights what's only in that version (green) and what's only in the page now (red, struck through).
  • Restore this version asks first, then saves the restore as a new version, keeping the page as it was. It waits if someone else is editing the page.
  • Every version is kept for 30 days, then the last one of each day for a year. Only people who can edit a page see its history. End-to-end encrypted documents have none.
  • Images nothing in a page or its history shows any more are deleted after 30 days.
  • New MCP tools: list_page_versions, get_page_version and restore_page_version.
