AI apps add image files and covers to pages, no base64

Your AI app can now add an image file from disk to a page, up to 20 MB, and make it the page's cover or icon. The file goes straight to storage with one curl command, instead of being pasted into the chat as base64.

  • MCP server
  • create_page_image_upload returns a storage address and the exact curl command that sends the file there; complete_page_image_upload checks the size, the SHA-256 and that the file really is a PNG, JPEG, GIF or WebP image, then returns asset:<id> and the Markdown ![alt](asset:<id>) to put in the page.
  • Covers and icons: pass that asset:<id> to set_page_properties as cover or icon. Like every page image, it shows only to people who can read the page.
  • copy_page_asset copies an image from one page to another you can edit, as a new image of that page.
  • Images up to 20 MB this way; an upload not finished within 6 hours is discarded. upload_page_image still takes small images as base64, up to 10 MB.
