Pages: choose a page's link, and change it without breaking the old one

Change a page's link from its ⋯ menu, with the whole new address shown as you type. The old link keeps working on markdrop.in and on your workspace's own domain, and AI apps can set a page's link when they create it.

  • Change link… in a page's ⋯ menu (owners): type the new slug, see it checked as you type and the full address it will have, with your domain, folders and parent pages.
  • The old link redirects. On markdrop.in and on your workspace's domain, sub-page addresses included. Change it again and every earlier link goes to the newest one. Embeds and mentions of the old link keep working, with nothing to rewrite.
  • MCP: create_page takes slug, the new set_slug tool changes the link of a page, document or file, and publish_document takes editor: "blocks" to publish a page. A taken link is an error that names it, never a silent rename.
  • API: POST /api/v1/pages takes slug, and GET /api/v1/documents/{slug}/slug-check?new_slug= says whether a link is free and what the full address would be.
