Who's viewing: see who's editing a page, and names only for people with access

The person editing a page now comes first in who's viewing, with a pencil on their avatar and "Riya is editing" in the bar. Viewers' names are now shown only to people who have access to the document: anyone else sees every viewer as an anonymous animal.

  • MCP server
  • Who's editing. On a page, the person holding it for editing gets an accent ring and a pencil and comes first in the row, and the bar says Riya is editing where there's room. On a phone the bar shows just their avatar with the pencil. When they stop, the pencil goes for everyone at once.
  • Names only for people with access. You see viewers by name only if the document is yours, you're a member of its workspace who can open it, or it was shared with you. Anyone else, signed in or not, sees every viewer as an animal, your team included, and the editor as, say, Anonymous Fox is editing. Who's reading a team's page stays with the team.
  • Someone who turned on Show me as anonymous is an animal for everyone, also while editing.
  • Anonymous viewers have line-drawn animal avatars instead of emoji.
  • AI apps: get_viewers follows the same rules and marks who's editing.
