A faster, cleaner sidebar

The sidebar now loads each workspace in one request and keeps it, shows pages with their emoji and documents and files with their kind, keeps what you have open in view, and shows + and ⋯ only when you point at a row.

  • One request per workspace. A workspace's folders, pages, documents and files load in one go and stay loaded as you move around, so the sidebar no longer reloads or jumps when you open something. A folder shows up to 50 items, then "12 more".
  • Easier to scan. Pages show their emoji, documents and files their kind's icon, in compact rows with guide lines. A name that doesn't fit shows in full when you point at it.
  • Where you are. The page or folder you have open is highlighted and scrolled into view.
  • Quieter rows. + (add a page inside) and ⋯ appear only when you point at a row. In the phone drawer they're large enough to tap.
  • Renames show at once. Rename a page and the sidebar and page tree change straight away, in your other tabs too, without reloading.
  • The page tree beside a page has the same icons, highlights the page you're on, and has + to add a page inside.
  • API: GET /api/v1/workspaces/{workspace_id}/nav returns the outline the sidebar shows.
